Welcome to the Greater Brandywine Cultural Alliance

We build a strong, vibrant, diverse community by fostering appreciation, participation and support of the arts and culture.

Please visit our website often, and discover the array of arts and cultural events taking place in the Greater Brandywine region.

If you are an artist, kindly let us know what else you need on our "Resources" pages.

Mission...
The Cultural Alliance unites artists and those who care about the arts and culture, to determine common opportunities and issues, and to work collectively on solutions. Special focus is in the areas of marketing, outreach, advertising, communication, audience development, fundraising, venue development, and the role of arts and culture in economic development.

The Cultural Alliance strengthens the community's awareness of the importance of arts and culture and its contributions to the community and to the economy; especially corporate leaders, government officials, audience members and patrons.

Background...
The Greater Brandywine Cultural Alliance is in its formative stages. Currently, the Cultural Alliance is a provisional fund of the Chester County Community Foundation, which provides administrative services under its 501(c) (3) charter.

The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, located in Center City, has graciously provided a county outreach coordinator to provide ongoing ideas, models, information and resources.

Service Area...
The primary service region is defined by the school districts of
-Kennett
-Avon-Grove
-Oxford
-Octorara, and
-Unionville-Chadds Ford.

The service region also extends to West Chester and Coatesville due to their proximity, and their association with the "Greater Brandywine" area.

Participation...
Participation is open to arts and cultural causes which are classified as:

~Nonprofit 501(c) (3) arts and cultural organizations
~Nonprofit causes acting as 501(c) (3) organizations
~Newly emerging arts and cultural initiatives
~Individual artists
~Individual, corporate/business, and government supporters and
  patrons of the arts
~For-profit business arts and culture ventures and organizations.

The range of causes is wide, to include these categories: art museum, arts education, community art/cultural organization, crafts & folklore, culinary, dance, ethnic or heritage promotion/preservation, film, gallery, historic organization or museum, horticultural/zoological, library/archive, literary/publications, media arts, music, performance space, professional education/training program, science, and theatre.
